Recently, he has been in international films such as “Sunshine” by Danny Boyle, “Rush Hour 3″ with Jackie Chan, and “The Last Samurai” with Tom Cruise.  He is also known as the leading actor of Oscar-nominated (foreign language movie category) “The Twilight Samurai”.

After I finished posting these, I was surfing around YouTube for Hiro’s past footage, and found a bunch of his Shakespeare work (King Lear and Hamlet).  It is interesting that Hiro’s role (Pete) in “The City of Your Final Destination” reminded me of “Fool” in “King Lear”.  He is talking about such Pete’s position in the characters in COYFD, although he does not refer King Lear, so please watch the interview video.

Coca Cola's premium bottled green tea "Ayataka" is running a new version of "special conversation" CM. This series is set in a imaginary guest house where Sanada-san welcomes various guests, over a glass of Ayataka tea. I like this concept, because it takes from the spirit of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony, "Ichigo Ichie" ("to cherish this precious occasion to meet this person at this moment over a cup of tea is the only special moment in life").

This time, he talks with Olympic gold medalist swimmer Kosuke Kitajima, about the challenge, pressure and delights of the big occasions.
